The King’s College’s House of Dietrich Bonhoeffer launched from the Empire State Building on Thursday, January 20, 2011.

The attendees were treated to a surprise visit by Bonhoeffer biographer Eric Metaxas. He discussed the importance of Bonhoffer’s writing for young Christian men. King’s Vice President of Advancement Jamey Nordby followed Metaxas with a word about how this site helps alumni relationships. has received over 900 hits since it’s launch Thursday night. 100 of those hits came from marketing on Facebook during the event. Nearly 200 alumni, parents, current and prospective King’s students watched the live stream.

This is not the first website for the House of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Several years ago students built websites for a house competition. The new was built by Chris Ellison, a professional web designer and honorary member of the House, along with House members Chad Abbott and Joshua Encinias.
